I had lunch with some friends at the Sandbar Restaurant on Anna Maria Island yesterday. I ordered the Seafood Mar Vista...my favorite. Shrimp, scallops, fish, artichokes, mushrooms and red & yellow peppers in a clear fish & wine broth over angel hair pasta then topped with a little freshly grated parmesan cheese. Before I settled in to work this morning I took a little wake up ride out on the causeway. Right before you get on the bridge to the island I saw a place to pull off that had a little shore area. Mary Lou and I went out to the island early this morning. First for a little business at the Gallery, then on to Coquina Beach. We drove down the Baywalk on Gulf Drive and then under the Longboat Key bridge to come up on the other side which is Coquina Beach. I went on my walk late this morning because I knew low tide wasn’t until about 11:30. Went on the beach and saw this poor little starfish, stunned by the cold. I wish I knew what I could do to help in a situation like this when it’s so cold, but I do not know.
